Great place, family friendly, great view, great location on quite North Shore, very hospitable owner
53-567 Kamehameha Hwy, #714, Hauula, HI, 96717, United States (310155)
If you're looking for a great beach front condo on the quiet and relaxing North Shore, this is a great place. View and access to a nice, calm beach in front of the condo - perfect for families and relaxing. Security person was very friendly. Landlady Barbara was very hospitable and answered all my questions. Location is great to get to all the North Shore and Oahu destinations without having to deal with the traffic and hectic atmosphere closer to Honolulu. Building is more dated, but secure. At the condo itself, you will have all the basic amenities you will need, just don't expect any high-end finishes.

Wonderful Getaway on the North Shore
My wife and I recently qualified for a company trip to Waikiki Beach. Based on advice from some friends, we flew in 3 days early and stayed on the north shore at this condo. We found the condo exactly as the pictures showed; clean, up-to-date, and cozy. It was also conveniently located to places we wanted to visit such as the Polynesian Cultural Center, Waimea Falls, and Haleiwa. The beach is right there and offers good swimming as well as great beach walks. Unlike Waikiki Beach, you have quite a bit of privacy on this part of the island, which is why we weren't ready to leave! When we come back to Hawaii, I plan to stay at this condo again!

great location
This was the perfect place in the North Shore. The appartment is very nice, clean, the kitchen is full equipped and beach towel are available. The Condo is right on the a quite beach. Very good for children. The condo is 30mins away from Sunset beach , where we spend most of our time. Some people complain about the noise at night coming for the road, but that didnt matter to us.

Loved the sea breeze through the condo
Originally when we rented the condo I was concerned about being on the 7th floor (we wanted a cottage on the beach). As it turned out the view from our floor was outstanding, much better than it would have been down low. Also, we felt save leaving the balcony open at night and while we were gone during the day allowing for a cooler stay. My wife liked the fact no one could look into the condo. No one had access to our floor that didn't have a condo FOB and the sea breezes that high up turned the condo into a wind tunnel when we opened the bedroom windows--it felt GREAT! I read some negative comments about street noise and light shining into the bedroom at night. Those kind of people don't deserve to go on vacation. By the time my head hit the pillow of a very comfortable king sized bed after a long day of scuba or snorkeling nothing could have kept me awake. The beach out front was never crowded and we saw as much sea life snorkeling right out in front of the condo as we did at Three Tables and Sharks Cove. It was also nice to be far from the hectic Waikiki and Honolulu. The North Shore had plenty to offer during the day and the roadside food was better than any restaurant we ate at. If you want a relaxing stay away from city life Pat's is perfect. We would stay again, and with our daughter 10 minutes down the road at BYU Hawaii, probably will.

Quiet Time
Aside from a lost parking permit (our fault) and broken louvers in the bedroom window (fixed during our stay), it could not have gone better. Views are great - Ko'olau mountains out the front, palm trees and reef (with honu!) out the back. Accessible to Hanauma Bay, Waimea Valley, the North Shore, etc., while being in a very quiet, low-traffic area. If you're looking for the city experience, find somewhere in Waikiki, but if you want to get away from the city and still maintain access to everything Oahu has to offer, Punalu'u is the place to be.

Superb East Shore Condo
May 28, 2013
We loved our stay at this condo in Pat's at Punalu'u! The apartment was beautiful, clean, well-supplied with essentials, and spacious for our company of three adults. Two of us slept in the large bed, another on the pull out couch in the living room. The kitchenette features essential conveniences as well. Located on the seventh floor, you will enjoy your view of the mountains to the west as you enter the condo, and the outdoor lanai overlooks the ocean to the east for a fantastic sunrise. Make use of the snorkel gear stowed in the closet! Lots of coral just a few steps from the shore on this private beach access provides numerous fish to see at different times of day. You may find sunscreen and other sundries left by past travelers; Ching's small store is located nearby, and Kailua (about 25 minute drive) features a Safeway for more stocking on groceries. I recommend Keneke's for a casual, inexpensive meal, about 1 mile south from the condo along the highway, as well as the Fish Tacos restaurant about 2 miles north. Lots to see in this vicinity, and very nice to be away from the bustle of Waikiki/Honolulu area. Avid surfers will prefer a rental car to get to the north shore or back toward Waikiki, although a section called 'Rainbows' just north of Chinaman's Hat island, about 5 miles south from the condo, occasionally has some small waves to catch.

great time in a great place for a great price
My fiancee and I had a great time. The place was very clean, it had everything we needed for our week in heaven. The view of the balcony is breathtaking, the sea outside is amazing. I have never seen calmer water. Barb made everything very easy. The area the condo is in was exactly what we were looking for. It was extremely calm and off the beaten path. The previous reviews were right that the road gets loud but that was never an issue because we slept on the sofa in the living room because of the view of the rising sun we would wake up to. The only downside was there is no air conditioning. The room never got too hot since we were never there during the day and at night the ocean breeze is more than enough, but I could see people used to 66degrees in the room could be a tad warm. If we are ever back in Oahu will definitely stay here again. Thanks Barb.

Beautiful Retreat
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful condo. The view is priceless! The amazing blues in the water and the clear water are beautiful and great for snorkeling. This beach has a reef barrier which at this time of year made it great for swimming. The owner thought of everything to make this feel like a home away from home. We had all the towels we needed, beach supplies (chairs, snorkel gear) and even a small cooler to take with us on day trips. We loved this side of the island too. Beautiful coast line and so many wonderful beaches to go to. We found this the perfect place to enjoy a day in the sun or as a home base as we went out to travel all over the island. We found it an easy drive to anywhere on the island, but we were never in a hurry! Thanks for providing the book "Oahu Reveled". This was so helpful in finding everything from great beaches to visit to great places to eat. We would recommend this great get away at this great price to anyone!

Excellent place to stay

Our stay here was one of the highlights of our first trip to Hawaii. We stayed in Honolulu and on Maui and then the last three days at this beautiful location. We were close to the Polynesian Cultural Center and all the sights on the north beaches. Our balcony looked out over the ocean and we spent time just sitting and watching and enjoying the tropical island there. The furnishings were much better than any hotel we stayed at, almost like our home away from home. We really enjoyed our early morning and evening walks on the beach next to the property. I recommend this to anyone who wants to experience Hawaii at its best.

Paradise Found
First, I would like to say Mahalo to Barb. She is a wonderful and lovely person and we were fortunate to get to meet her in person during our stay. This condo is perfect. Amazing view of the ocean - stunning! The condo has a large king bed which is very comfortable. There is a sofa sleeper in the living room that allows you to sleep to the sounds of the ocean if you find the road noise uncomfortable in the bedroom. The building is very secure, and the residents and manager are friendly and inviting. Barb has all the supplies you need for the beach, towels, snorkel equipment, toys. We love the north shore of Oahu and this location is perfect with 30 min drives to Haleiwa to the north or Kailua to the east. Try Papa Ole's in Hauula for the perfect local style plate lunches and be sure to have their Macadamia Nut pancakes for breakfast. Thank you for everything Barb ... we will be back. Your condo is paradise found. Mahalo and Aloha!

The times were restrictive as far as the closing of the pool at 8:00. Otherwise, the condo was lovely! 5 stars!
Guest: Richard and WendyDate of Stay: January-February 2011"We enjoyed our stay in the condo very much. The condo was a place that we really felt at home and could relax that was away from the hustle and bezel of Waikiki. Waikiki was about 1 hours drive away. Sunset Beach 30 minutes and Polynesian Cultural Center about 5 minutes away. The condo was very well equipped and had all of the conveniences of home (blender, toaster, food processor, hair dryer, coffee maker, large refrigerator and all of the pots and pans that you would ever need). The condo's lanai overlooked the ocean, so there was a beautiful sunrise view each morning. The ocean in front of the condo has a reef and there was a large safe place to enjoy snorkeling. Covered parking and elevator was also nice to have. Barb was very helpful and easy to work with. We could tell that she put a lot of thought and effort into making the condo a perfect place to have a relaxing vacation.

"Our family had a marvelous stay-- The beach was perfect for our family, with boys 12 years and 18 months old. We informed Barb just days before our stay that we would need a high chair and a crib, and they were made available with no problem. We appreciated the toys, games, and DVDs that were in the apartment. Overall, a wonderful vacation-- we look forward to returning!"

Date of Stay: September 2010"We came to the condo not knowing what to expect! We were pleased when we arrived! We were a family of four that didn’t want to be crammed in a small space for 6 days. The condo was wonderful the location was prefect. We were steps away from the beach. The view was amazing. You have an UNOBSTRUCTED view of the ocean. The condo was fully furnished with quality linens and towels. The master bedroom was very large and you got a good cross wind when the lanai door was opened. There was no need for air conditioning. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the cook ware that you could need. It was a perfect place to spend our family vacation. We would definitely recommend this unit to other families."
